Gibson ES-335 Dot Cherry + Bigsby, 1989

Price

€2 500,00

For sale is a Gibson ES-335 Dot in Cherry, built in 1989 in Nashville.

This guitar has been well played over the years and shows honest signs of use, but no breaks, cracks, or structural issues. It is a true player’s instrument, not a case queen or collector piece.

Condition & Playability

  • Frets are in good shape: not new, but far from worn out

  • Plays very well with a comfortable neck and great resonance

  • The neck was stripped at some point and refinished with a clear coat

  • Nitro finish has developed natural checking (“crackles”) over the years — the kind of aging people now pay a premium for at the Murphy Lab

  • The knobs have been changed to 70s style witch hat knobs

  • The trussrod cover has been changed to a "custom" one

  • The tuners have been changed to Gibson Deluxe Single Line, Double Ring tuners

Electronics

  • Equipped with Gibson ’57 Classic (neck) and ’57 Classic Plus (bridge) pickups

  • Warm, open vintage tone with a bit of extra push at the bridge

Notable Features

  • Ebony fretboard – a relatively rare and desirable feature on ES-335s

  • Bigsby B7 tremolo added aftermarket; works perfectly and stays in tune well

Additional Info

  • Guitar comes in an aftermarket hard case

  • Overall, in very good condition for nearly 37 years old, but clearly a player, not a museum piece
